As DCforEU approaches the conclusion of its current project phase, we invite the European DC community to join us for a webinar bringing together some of the project's most significant findings.

DC technologies are increasingly important to discussions about Europe's future electricity system, from HVDC transmission and renewable integration to distribution networks and emerging applications. But what does the European landscape look like today? Where are its strengths and capabilities? And where should research, innovation and collaboration focus next?

Drawing on the project's European DC capacity assessment and Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA), the webinar will offer a condensed technical, industrial and strategic overview of the sector and its future direction. These are among the key outputs being brought together as DCforEU reaches the end of its current project phase.

From status to strategy – and implementation

The session will begin by looking at the state of DC in Europe, drawing on the project's assessment and mapping of capabilities and activities across the sector.

We then turn towards the future, exploring the priorities, challenges and opportunities identified through the SRIA and what they mean for the continued development of DC technologies.

Finally, an expert panel will move the conversation from strategy to implementation, bringing together perspectives from the European DC community before opening the floor to audience questions.

The results also provide a foundation for what comes next. The knowledge, priorities and collaboration developed through DCforEU will support continued European cooperation on DC technologies and the activities of the SET Plan Implementation Working Group.
